Paediatric Footcare

We all know our children are constantly growing! At The local podiatrist we believe it is important for all kids to have a biomechanical assessment to ensure they have all the building blocks for their physical health. As children grow, their joints and bones develop and change, so it can be beneficial to visit a podiatrist with an interest in paediatric foot health to ensure their growth and development match their age. Many foot and ankle problems develop from a young age.

The podiatrist will perform a paediatric assessment which involves examining the child’s walking and gait patterns to identify any biomechanical and foot abnormalities. Certain features such as in-toes, flat feet or knocked knees can be identified, and a treatment plan devised and implemented to ensure that the biomechanics of the foot are not damaged permanently.

At The Local Podiatrist we have an interest in paediatric foot health, and will take the time to learn as much as we can about your child before we reach a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan
